Logistics Engineer (Multiple Openings)

DUTIES: Design or analyze operational solutions for transportation optimization, routing and shipment optimization. Evaluate the effectiveness of current or future logistical processes by maintaining databases of logistics information, and interpreting that data, such as availability, maintainability, and reliability, supply and service chain management using Lean Six Sigma methodology. Develop logistics metrics, internal analysis tools, and key performance indicators, as needed, to improve delivery processes. Review contractual commitments, client specifications, and related information to determine logistics and support requirements. Determine logistics support requirements, including facility details, staffing needs, and safety and maintenance plans. Strategic sourcing and distribution, and transportation. Analyze and interpret logistics data involving client service, forecasting, procurement, transportation, warehousing, and delivery procedure. Evaluate the use of technologies, such as global positioning systems (OPS), radio-frequency identification (RFID). Route navigation software, and satellite linkup systems, to improve transit efficiency. Recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes and propose logistics solutions for clients. Prepare reports on logistics performance measures and provide logistics technology and information for more efficient support of delivery service. Prepare logistics strategies and conceptual designs for sorting and delivery facility. Offered Wage: $105,394/yr. Location: Bethesda MD.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have Master’s degree (Logistics or Supply Chain Management) with Lean Six Sigma certification. (Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification). Telecommuting Not Permitted. No Travel Required.
